Sarah Rankin
Master of Health Psychology (First Class Honours), Postgraduate Diploma in Health Psychology
I am a registered psychologist (NZPB) with specialised training in health psychology and a member of the New Zealand Psychological Society (NZPsS).
I have worked across both hospital and primary healthcare settings, supporting adults through a range of emotional, physical and life challenges. Much of my work has involved helping people navigate periods of change, uncertainty, and overwhelm — particularly when life begins to feel difficult to manage alone.
I work with people 18 years and over experiencing:
Low mood/depression
Anxiety and health anxiety
Women’s health concerns and challenges, including infertility and pregnancy loss, menstrual difficulties and disorders, and menopause
Breathing pattern disorders
Adjusting to new diagnoses or managing chronic/life threatening life conditions
ADHD
Grief and Loss
Stress, burnout and life transitions
Insomnia and sleep difficulties
Approach
I take a warm, thoughtful, and collaborative approach to therapy. I’m interested not just in what’s happening for you now, but in understanding the broader context of your experiences — your relationships, your history, and the patterns that may be shaping how things feel today.
My therapeutic approach incorporates evidence based therapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Mindful Self-Compassion. I work in collaboration with my clients, tailoring my approach to their particular needs
